A million thoughts, a million emotions, a million questions cross a classical dancer's mind as she engages with both, her art and her audience. This sea of millions is the becoming of her. Sharing some such moments from my journey here, with all those who wash up on this shore-page.

I consider myself foremost, a student of the arts. Whatever I know about classical dance, I have received from my Odissi guru Pratibha Jena Singh, who inherited a most unique, expressive and divine style of Odissi created by her Guru Surendra Nath Jena, who was both, her guru and father. She is, according to me, his most talented and dedicated disciple, the one who imbibed his generous spirit, his deep reverence for art, and his selfless farsighted vision for the dance. I have learnt from her not only in the classroom, but outside it too; most importantly, I have learnt that very often a dancer is made when art and life collide.

The universe of dance, as I have learnt from my Guru, is a gift that keeps giving, and I am here to share it forward.
